A Camping Wedding

A Weddings By Event Kings Wedding

One of our favorite things when we meeting a new bride is hearing her vision they have in their head and then asking us “Is this possible?” That is what we encountered with one of our latest brides who dreamed of having a camping themed wedding. The bride and groom’s favorite past time consists of all types of outdoor activities, and it was important to them to express that through their wedding.

Both ceremony and reception were held at a beautiful East Hampton campground that the couple had camped out at in the past. The ceremony space was hidden in the depths of the woods in a clear open space overlooking Gardiners Bay.

Guests walked up a scenic path and were met with a rustic pavilion that held the reception. Long picnic tables with burlap runners, small tree stumps and bud vases added to the camping feel. Glowing bistro lighting were strung from the pavilion, creating the feeling that everyone was dancing under the stars. Guests were entertained with ping pong tables, corn hold and giant jenga as the night went on.

As the sun set, a custom made s’mores table was brought out as a to take a to-go treat as they all headed over to the bride and groom’s campsite to enjoy an end of the night bonfire.

Photo Prep For The Big Day

Wedding Tip Of The Week

After your big day is complete, your wedding photos are the lasting images that you will have forever. Every bride has her own vision on how she wants her photos to look and what style they should be, which can cause a lot of stress.

Event Kings Director of Media, Pat O’Brien, has two tips for today’s brides. The first is to do some research. Take a little time, sit at the computer and flip through Google and Pinterest to find some inspiration for the different photos that fit your style. Start a Pinterest board just for photos you like- once you’ve done your investigation, you can translate this into a shot list of your must haves, or if your photographer is media trendy- even share your board with them.

Pat’s second tip is to trust your professional. “They know what is and isn’t going to look good. They also understand their camera and the lighting of the area you are shooting in. We want to get our clients input, but we also want them to trust our experience.”

So do a little exploration, trust your photographer and enjoy taking the photos on your big day! If you’re happy in the moment, it will definitely shine through in your photos.

A Rustic Country Weddings

A Weddings By Event Kings Wedding

Take a touch of peach, a beautiful yard and an abundance of gold glitter, and you have the scene of our most recent rustic country wedding. Our bride wanted something very simple and close to home for all of her family and friends to celebrate her big day.

The groom’s family was kind enough to offer their home, in a prestigious Long Island town, to hold the reception space. Everything from bathrooms, to tables and linens, and even electricity was brought in to create the perfect wedding for this couple. Custom made directional signs greeted guests as they entered the home and they were handed cans of wine as they walked up to the tent.  They were surprised to find out that a private ceremony for the bride and groom was held for the family a few days prior to reception, and the main purpose of this reception was to party.

The tent sparkled from the gold glitter vases that held a perfect blend of peach and cream flowers. Rustic frames held the hand-made seating chart, which added to the country feel. Guests couldn’t get enough of the photo booth, and danced the night away on the dance floor.

As guests began to leave, a fully loaded snack truck was there to send them off with a ton of goodies.

A Unique Museum Wedding

A Weddings By Event Kings Wedding

When you’re born and raised on Long Island, you are able to discover some unique places that can be potential wedding venues. Our bride and groom wanted to take a traditional wedding and put a spin on it, and their way to accomplish this was to host their special day at an iconic Long Island museum!

Guests arrived at a quaint church in the bride’s hometown for a traditional church ceremony. Stunning stained glass and floral arrangements on the alter filled the room with warmth and color as family and friends watched through tears as the couple recited their vows to one another.

The bride had dreamed up every little detail for her vision and needed us to fulfill it for her. Everything from linens to lighting was hand-picked by the bride, even cupcake holders. She wanted to keep a rustic feel for all of her décor with a touch of a traveling theme to go along with the unique atmosphere of the venue. One of the venue’s attractions was a large plane suspended above the dance floor as guests danced the night away.
As their big day came to a close, guests were given hand-made cupcakes in a variety of flavors to take home as their favors.
